About Megan

Hi, I’m Megan Verno, MS, CMHC— Founder & CEO of novonexus. I believe in the transformative power of change, and recognize that we can’t do it alone.

Our mission at novonexus is to help you find new connections, so that through community support and the right guides, you can find healing and wholeness. We’re here to support you.

Whether you're experiencing the pain of religious deconstruction, grappling with trauma, seeking to a supportive group—or a professional who works with individuals who do, I will guide you towards insights, improved communication and better emotional attunement.

I hold a Master’s of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Westminster College and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from UVU. My training encompasses psychodynamic, interpersonal, and group therapy, and I'm a member of the LGBTQ+ Therapy Guild of Utah. My research has focused on religious deconstruction, and I've developed a "Break Free" group specifically for individuals leaving high-control religions, more specifically the LDS religion. (Please inquire for more details about this supportive, educational, and transformational group.) My therapeutic approach is interpersonal, viewed through an existential lens. I utilize trauma-informed, reality-based methods, along with DBT, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-based stress reduction, EMDR, and other relevant evidence-based therapies. I have experience counseling clients facing complex trauma, religious trauma, identity and existential crises, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, perfectionism, OCD, ADHD, and substance abuse.

I'm passionate about working alongside you as you embark on the powerful transformation that can occur within the therapeutic relationship. I value your authenticity and unique story. I would be honored to work with you.
